Must-See Movies To See This Fall - Some Could Be Up For Oscars

Everything From Strip Club Comedies To Space Epics

September 6, 2019

It's Officially Fall Movie Season and like you, The Morning Mix with Wicker and Wilde love checking out a good flick.  And these babies are looking to be contenders for an Oscar.

Let's start with our girl, J-Lo.  “Hustlers,” opens September 13th: Based on a “New York Magazine” article from 2015, Jennifer Lopez, along with Constance Wu and Cardi B play a group of strippers who start scamming their rich customers to make ends meet during a recession.

“Monos,” opens September 13th: A group of young people living alone in a Colombian jungle go through fierce training exercises as they await detectives from a mysterious entity “The Organization.”

“The Goldfinch,” opening September 13th looks sooooo good! Ansel Elgort, Nicole Kidman, Jeffrey Wright, Luke Wilson, and Sarah Paulson star in this adaptation of Donna Tartt’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name, telling the story of a man who ends up in the world of art forgery after surviving a terrorist attack on the Metropolitan Museum of Art when he was young.

“Ad Astra,” opens September 20th: Brad Pitt stars as an astronaut traveling to the farthest reaches of space to find his missing father.

Calling all Zach Galifianakis fans.....“Between Two Ferns,” opens September 20th: Based off ZG's parody interview show, the movie gets even more surreal as he goes on a road trip to restore his “reputation” after his “public access TV show” is uploaded to the internet by Will Ferrell.

“Judy,” opens September 27th: Renée Zellweger makes a triumphant return to the big screen as Judy Garland.  This biopic takes place the year before Garland’s death in 1969 and is based on the musical, “End of the Rainbow.”  30 after The Wizard of Oz, after battles with addiction and illness, Judy is in London to perform to sold-out nightclub crowds — and that’s where she meets the man who will become her fifth husband.

“The Laundromat,” opens September 27th: Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman, Antonio Banderas (yum!), Sharon Stone star in this comedic drama about the 2016 Panama Papers, a huge data leak that exposed the corruption of the world’s rich and elite.

Now......the question is pocorn, with or without butter?  Happy Watching!
