Liam is an active youngster who weighs about 11 pounds, is 12-18 months old and is believed to be a Pomeranian mix. He was rescued by CARE after having been hit by a car. The accident caused a mid-spine injury and Liam was unable to stand on his rear legs. He had spinal surgery February 10 and his fracture was stabilized with screws and bone cement. We celebrate that Liam has regained use of his rear legs and is now fully weight-bearing. He enjoys playing with his toys, and loves belly rubs and his daily walks. As a youngster, slowing him down is often the focus. Liam will have life-long activity restrictions of no jumping on/off furniture or going up or downstairs. Liam needs to keep all 4 paws on the ground.

Liam has been given all his vaccines, been both neutered and microchipped, and tested negative for heart worms and tick-borne illnesses. CARE requires a family for Liam that will commit to his life-long activity restrictions. Being the only dog in his home would reduce the chance for play injury. We believe he would be best served with a family that walks every day, does not have young children, and offers a fenced yard for safe activity.

During this time of COVID-19, we are scheduling private outdoor meetings for interested adopters. Before scheduling that meeting, we ask that you visit our website at to read about our adoption protocols (requirements). Then, reach out to us at to schedule your time!
