UPS driver takes selfies with dogs he meets on his route

A UPS driver in New Orleans has gained quite a following by posting photos of himself with dogs.

Jason Hardesty, 32, meets a lot of pups along his delivery route. When he does, he likes to take pictures with his furry friends.

Hardesty's infectious smile and love of mutts has made him quite popular in the neighborhood.

"Every time I see a dog, I definitely get more excited than I used to," the 11-year UPS veteran told "Good Morning America."

He now gets requests from customers to take snapshots with their pets.

While Hardesty started taking the adorable photos with pups he came across on his routes, tagging them #pupsofjay, he says he didn't expect the shots to go viral.

"I picked up a dog, just goofing around on a Friday," he told GMA. "I took a photo with him, posted it on my Instagram and he got me more likes than I've ever seen. So every Friday, I try to keep up with that."

Since then, his Instagram has grown to nearly 100,000 followers.

He even said he has started to become recognized locally.

"Owners are pretty cool when I ask to take a photo with their dogs because they're like ... 'You're going to make my dog famous!'"
