Kobe Bryant's Youngest Daughter Takes First Steps in Heartwarming Video

May 26, 2020

Kobe Bryant would be jumping for joy if he experienced this family milestone.

Capri Bryant, daughter of the late NBA legend, took her first steps.

The proud mother and widow of Kobe, Vanessa Bryant, posted the adorable video to Instagram to show that her 11-month-old daughter has started to walk.

“So proud of my Koko Bean,” she captioned the photo. “Capri took her first steps from her auntie Sophie to mama today.”

The video has gained more than 6 million views as Bryant shared the adorable moment. When Capri walked, she quickly hugged her mother, who immediately said with excitement, “I knew you could do it!”

Kobe and their 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, died in a tragic helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, in January. The crash also killed seven other victims including Gianna’s basketball teammates, Payton Chester and Alyssa Altobelli. The WNBA picked the three girls as the honorary draftees in the 2020 draft.

Since then, Bryant has shared milestones with his followers on her official Instagram page.

Earlier in May, Vanessa honored Gianna on what would have been her 14th birthday in a moving tribute on Instagram.

The mother even received a special gift from her late husband. While celebrating her 38th birthday, Vanessa shared a letter left for her by the NBA legend.

"Yesterday I found an envelope labeled To: The Love of my Life. From, Tu Papi ❤️" Vanessa captioned a photo of her holding an envelope.

She explained that she held off on reading the letter until the special day, writing, "I waited to open one more letter on my birthday. It gave me something to look forward to today.❤️"

“The irony is that Kobe had a photo of me drawn with an Angel holding me up by an artist on the cover,” she wrote adding, “missing the Love of my Life and my sweet little Mamacita- my fellow Taurus. Grateful to wake up to my 3 sweet girls today. Wish we were all together. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️."
