Apple TV+ celebrates 'Peanuts' 70th anniversary with a trailer for 'The Snoopy Show'

October 3, 2020

Here’s something that will make you feel old: “Peanuts” is turning 70!

The daily comic strip began its run on October 2, 1950.

Since then, Snoopy and the gang have become a staple in many households, especially around the holidays.

Now, Apple TV+ is celebrating the milestone anniversary in the best possible way – by releasing a trailer for its upcoming animated series “The Snoopy Show.”

The series reunites the whole “Peanuts” clan – Woodstock, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Franklin, Schroeder, and Peppermint Patty – as they go on some memorable adventures.

"Snoopy may seem like just a happy-dancin', bone-lovin', doghouse-sittin' pup, but he's much more than that," the logline reads. "He's Joe Cool: hippest kid in school. He's surfer king and famed arm-wrestler Masked Marvel. He's World War I Flying Ace who battles the Red Baron. All of his bold, beloved personas are on full display in this brand-new animated comedy."

The minute-long trailer reveals that the infamous and beloved beagle is still going on some great escapades as he’s seen diving underwater, flying, riding a motorcycle, and even walking a tightrope.

Even something as mundane as going to the movies is an adventure with Snoopy around.

"Why can't I just have a normal dog?" Charlie Brown questions with a sigh at one point in the teaser, which explains that to this day, Snoopy remains “the world's most extraordinary beagle.”

The series will arrive on the streaming service on February 5, 2021 with episodes consisting of three, seven-minute cartoons based on the comic.
